Do you remember the Tahfiz Darul Quran Ittifaqiyah tragedy? The incident that claimed 23 lives of tahfiz students in Jalan Keramat Hujung, Kampung Datuk Keramat, Wangsa Maju, Kuala Lumpur in the early morning of 4.15, 14 September 2017.
When I received a call from PICOMS International University College (PICOMS) to conduct training for Tahfiz students on Emergency Response Program (ERP) subject – it immediately captured in my mind the tragedy that took place in 2017.

We have been appointed to conduct basic Emergency Preparedness courses for tahfiz students. PICOMS International University College is a presenter and the donation conduit from MAIWP, and NATECH Management PLT in this program as an appointed consultant by PICOMS. MAIWP through BAITULMAL sponsored the selected students to sit for several courses to ready themselves after being employed. These tahfiz students are in the transition period after completing their tahfiz lessons. Some of these students soon will be tahfiz teachers, some are now served in tahfiz, some have been employed and some are still waiting for any opportunities.
These students were taught emergency preparedness to prepare themselves after finishing school and instilled with basic knowledge of preparing for an emergency at their workplace. The duration of this training is a two-day program. Aside from ERP, students will be joining a few other courses, including OSH-C, Leadership, First-aider, Safety Health Committee, SSS, Drone etc. organized by PICOMS. We at NATECH Management PLT are honoured to present our favourite topic; EMERGENCY RESPONSE. Only this time, this ERP module is designed to basic ERP knowledge specific to Tahfiz management and students for them to manage emergencies.
Like our usual learning facilitating techniques, the model is still the same, it still uses group discussions, data search and examples through the internet search by the students themselves, group presentations, question-and-answer sessions, video-sharing and also lecture sessions.
At the end of the training session, we received the trainer evaluation from the students and PICOMS course coordinator and we were honoured to receive a response that they understood the topic and completed the given assignment. As usual, we gave the students a gift in the form of chocolates to enjoy after completing the program. This is us to give away a little souvenir and a moment to remember in the form of “chocolate-eat-together”; and why chocolate? many believe chocolate can stimulate the brain.
If you feel that our company is suitable to deliver this topic: EMERGENCY RESPONSE or the DISASTER PREPAREDNESS, you can contact us for more information. We have been sharing this technique and topic for many years and with many types of companies.
Our facilitator has vastly experienced conducting table-top training and exercise series, and we have been appointed to become an observer for many national level drills and evaluators for Ex-Petir – those days when working with one of fortune 500 O&G companies.
Looking forward to sharing with you!
