UTM SCIENTIFIC EXPEDITION TO MOUNT KINABALU, UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITE

In conjunction to Science and Technology for Disaster Risk Reduction (STDRR) Week 2020

This scientific expedition lead by Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) with the support of Sabah Parks, Department of Mineral and Geoscience, Ministry of Water, Land, and Natural Resources, Disaster Prevention Research Institute (DPRI), Kyoto University Japan, Central Research Institute of Electric Power Industry (CRIEPI) Japan & Geomapping Technology Sdn Bhd (GMT).

This expedition aims to commemorate 5-yrs Sabah Earthquake and acquire some scientific data for better understanding of mountain geohazard processes, activities and impacts. This expedition is an important step to support any DRR strategies in the UNESCO World Heritage Site.
